After dropping almost 9 pounds in late July and early August, I put 6 back on after / as part of Stef's birthday weekend (though Morimoto and Solbar might be worth it). I think 3 of the 6 pounds went to my chin and 3 went to my belly, very frustrating.
On the plus side, I had my first flat Friday-to-Monday, meaning this is the first week in the last 2 months where I didn't gain any weight over the weekend. Which is nice, but I guess that's less exciting because I'm at the top of my weight range.
So this week, I'm resolving to re-baseline and start my efforts anew. Even if I won't quite be beach ready in Hawaii next week, my long term health will benefit from a few less pounds, so wish me luck! (again) 15 pounds to go!
Hi, I'm Pete. I used to be really skinny (6'2", 120lbs, 10 years ago), and then I got kinda hefty (210lbs, 2 years ago), and now I'd like to get into good shape. I'd like to use this blog to publish my progress towards my goal weight (180lbs, hopefully by mid-October), and detail what I'm doing to get there. Perhaps it's a bit self-indulgent, but I'm hoping to gain some motivation to stick to my diet and to improve my exercise habits.

Lunch 08/31
First post in a while, bigger update to follow.
Probably could do without the fat in the BBQ chips, but after a light breakfast, I needed to add a bunch of calories to the Turkey Pesto wrap.

Fishy Monday
> Some good fish oils to help combat the pizza grease from yesterday. A lot healthier and pretty darn tasty!

Fresh Start
After a disappointing end to last week (weight didn't drop too much, I fell off plan, and I was a little under the weather), this week started ok. This morning I weighed in at 196.2, which is an increase over Friday, but a decrease over the past two Mondays. I was beginning to feel a bit like Garfield (hating Mondays and longing for lasagna). Typically the weekend has added a few pounds, but despite BBQ and drinks Friday, deep fried mac-n-cheese Saturday, and Extreme pizza for dinner last night, I kept it to a minimum. How? Credit illness or exercise. Since I don't want to maintain the illness, not even sure how I'd go about that, I may have to exercise more. I guess that's a big part of most physician recommended weight loss plans anyway.
Didn't get quite as much done on the blog as I would have liked. We'll see if I can get a chart or graph up at some point. I've been debating some before / after type pics, but that seems a little too self indulgent / depressing if I never get to post an after. Maybe if I take pics at a regular interval. I'm also a few weeks in, so the transformation has begun.

Day 2 of Blog
After this morning's weighty disappointment, today may be building to further heartbreak. Broke down and got a walnut blondie. That combined with my 700 calorie salad will probably put me over my target for the day. Oh well, it's nice not to be hungry, the last 2-3 days were pretty rough.
You may have noticed the Twitter feed at the top of the blog. I'm using MyNetDiary to track my calorie consumption (more on that later) and this seems the best way to post those entries. I'd rather have them as actual blog posts, but I haven't figured that out yet. I'd also like to add some Google Docs widgets to chart some of my numbers (RHR, weight, etc.), but that'll take some time. I did get FeedBurner up and running, so that's a plus. I'm officially ready to have visitors!

Off to a Shaky Start
Day 1 of blogging about my Diet didn't go quite as planned. The wife and I went out to dinner, and I thought it would be ok to have a beer or two while waiting for a table. Then the bartender gave me a tequila shot, and all diet plans flew out the window. I didn't total up my calories, but the scale doesn't lie. This morning was my first weekday weight increase in 3-4 weeks, which means I'm doing ok overall, just gotta watch those liquid calories.
Also, I highly recommend Zero Zero on Folsom in Soma. Good bruschetta, great pizza (we had the Castro), and a really cool make your own Sunday type dessert menu.
